April 7-13, 2019 is National Library Week, an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians and library workers play in transforming lives and communities. Libraries are at the heart of their cities, towns, schools and campuses. They have public spaces where people of all backgrounds can come together and connect. First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. The Metcalfe County Public Library is celebrating National Library Week by presenting the following events:
National Library Week Photo Contest
You love the library so now it's your chance to show it! Help us celebrate National Library Week by submitting a photo showing off why you love the library!
Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, April 3rd.
All entries will be displayed in the library and shared on the library's Facebook page during National Library Week (April 8th - April 12th). The winner will be determined by community-wide voting and will receive $50 Metcalfe Dollars.
